Job Title: Grant and Fundraising Writer

About Us: Located on the Central Coast of California, The Rec Hub is a non-profit recording studio focused on youth with the mission of removing financial barriers between young music makers and access to quality recordings. We are seeking skilled and passionate writers to join our team.
Position Overview: Our writers play a crucial role in securing financial support for our organization by crafting compelling grant proposals, identifying and organizing information about potential donors, and writing persuasive fundraising proposals for major donors. Additionally, this role involves updating and maintaining engaging website copy to effectively communicate our mission and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Proposals:
- Research and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
- Write and submit clear, persuasive, and accurate grant proposals that align with the funders’ guidelines and our organizational goals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather information, data, and narratives needed for proposals.
Donor Information Management:
- Identify and research potential major donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
- Organize and maintain detailed records of donor information and engagement strategies.
- Develop and implement strategies to cultivate and sustain relationships with potential donors.
Fundraising Proposals:
- Create tailored and compelling fundraising proposals for major donors, ensuring alignment with their interests and giving capacity.
- Work closely with the development team to strategize and execute effective fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
Website Copy Updates:
- Regularly update and refresh website content to reflect current programs, initiatives, and impact stories.
- Ensure website copy is engaging, clear, and aligned with our branding and messaging.
- Collaborate with the web development team to optimize content for user experience and SEO.
Qualifications:
- Experience in writing grant proposals, fundraising proposals, or similar documentation is preferred.
- Strong understanding of donor research and information management.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and basic SEO principles.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Experience in a non-profit organization or similar sector.
